So far this year....

Wow this year is flying by quickly.  Christmas will be here before we know it.  First and Second grade students have been learning all about the tropical rainforests.  Third graders have been learning about Greek mythology.  Fourth and fifth graders have been learning about Ancient Egypt.  We have been doing lots of fun projects while studying about these units.

Lewis Frasier adopted our school to compete in First in Math.  Each student has a password to practice on math facts and earning points as they practice.  Anthony and Cassidy are in the lead with over 4,000 points!  Way to go guys!  Keep up the great work.

I hope to keep our blog updated from here on out!

Off to a GREAT start in the New Year!

We are off to a great start in the new year. Due to high numbers I have made a schedule change with half of the second graders. I now serve 3rd grade and six 2nd graders on Mondays. Tuesdays I have 1st grade and six 2nd graders. There are no changes with 4th and 5th grades. This schedule is working great! My Monday and Wednesday groups are learning about "Pele's Peak". Towards the end of the unit I will send home a paper with instructions for each student to create their own volcano and bring in to school. My Tuesday group has started a unit called "Zoo". My Thursday group is finishing up our unit on the Middle Ages. We will start our unit on "Clipper" in the next couple of weeks. Students are also working on completing Media Festival projects that are due Feb. 1st. They are doing a great job!
